Grade 7 Mathematics for Kenya’s CBC/CBE learners

Build strong mathematical understanding one concept at a time. WazaSchool supports Grade 7 learners with structured explanations, worked examples, practice and assessment designed to help them understand methods—not just memorise answers.

What learners can work on

Grade 7 Mathematics builds foundations across numbers, algebra, measurement and geometry. Learners benefit from revisiting prerequisite ideas, seeing worked steps, practising independently and checking their understanding before moving forward.

A useful study routine

Start by reading the lesson objective. Follow the worked example line by line, write your own working on paper, complete the practice questions, and review feedback before attempting an assessment. If a method is unclear, return to the explanation and try a similar problem.

For parents and caregivers

Help establish a regular study time, ask learners to explain how they reached an answer, and encourage them to show their working. Understanding the steps is more useful than memorising a final answer.

For teachers

WazaSchool is designed to support structured learning and practice. Staff access depends on their authorised account and assigned role; public pages do not expose learner records or private class information.

Build the foundations: key Grade 7 Mathematics areas

Mathematics becomes easier when learners connect procedures to meaning. Use the topic areas below as a revision map, then follow the actual lesson sequence and learning activities available in your account.

Numbers and number sense

Practise reading and comparing whole numbers, place value, operations, fractions and decimals. Estimate an answer first, show each calculation step, and check whether the result is reasonable.

Algebra and patterns

Look for relationships in number patterns, use symbols to represent unknown values, collect like terms where appropriate, and solve equations by keeping both sides balanced.

Measurement

Choose suitable units, convert units carefully, read scales, and write units alongside answers. For perimeter, area and volume problems, identify what is being measured before selecting a formula.

Geometry and spatial reasoning

Use diagrams to reason about lines, angles, shapes and their properties. Mark known information on the diagram and explain why each step follows from a property or given fact.

How to learn a difficult method

  1. State what the question asks you to find.
  2. Write down the information you know and choose a suitable method.
  3. Work through one step at a time, showing calculations clearly.
  4. Check the result using estimation, substitution or a second method where possible.
  5. Review the mistake if your answer is incorrect, then try a similar question independently.

These are general study suggestions, not a promise that every listed topic or activity is currently published to every account. The available learning sequence is determined by WazaSchool's live curriculum and your account permissions.
